Clogged arteries, also known as atherosclerosis, occurs when fatty deposits begin to accumulate within and around the artery walls. This can lead to hardening and narrowing of the arteries, can restrict blood flow and is a risk factor for heart disease. Fortunately, there are foods we can consume that can help to naturally unclog our arteries and promote heart health. Now, lets discuss some food that can unclog our arteries.

1. First, berries such as blueberries, raspberries and blackberries can help to improve heart health and unclog arteries. This is because these berries are packed with heart healthy compounds that can significantly reduce the risk of atherosclerosis, such as anti-inflammatory compounds, fibre, plant compounds, antioxidants and many different nutrients. As well, berries can help to reduce cholesterol accumulation while reducing damaging free radicals.

2. Adding leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, spinach and cabbage can help to unclog arteries. Many individuals will consume green smoothies to increase overall heart health. Studies have shown that consuming green vegetable, or cruciferous vegetables, can decrease the risk of atherosclerosis. 3. Another great food choice to unclog arteries naturally is beets. This is because they are a rich source of nitrates which converts to nitric oxide through different bodily processes. Consuming beets has been found to increase blood vessel function while also decreasing inflammation and preventing atherosclerosis. Beets are also packed with many heart healthy nutrients.

4. Lastly, ginger can help to unclog arteries naturally and has many heart healthy nutrients. Ginger has tremendous anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce free radicals. As well, ginger can help to improve blood lipid levels and reduce platelets clumping together in the blood, unclogging our arteries in the process.
